Mod Fashion Tips: Selecting Clothing That’s Right For Your Hourglass Figure

Posted by Earlan on December 11th, 2010  •  No Comments »

Spring is here, and clothing designers are introducing their newest styles in skirts, dresses, denim jeans, shirts, and halter tops. The mod, hipster, and retro fashion mavens among us tend to covet certain styles. However, to look your best, it’s also essential to select clothing styles that complement your figure. At first glance, the hourglass figure seems like the embodiment of feminine perfection. Men lust after it and women covet it. Surprisingly, we’ve found that hourglass-shaped ladies can’t wear everything. Too-tight clothes, like leggings and provocative halters, tend to look trampy. Too-big clothes, like baggy sheath dresses and very wide-legged denim jeans, tend to look sloppy. Read on to discover the clothing styles that flatter you, and get hip to the hottest clothing design trends, too. DressesIf you have an hourglass figure, play up your curves by selecting clothing with a defined waist. This year, designer Corey Lynn Calter introduced the “Raven” dress, a sheath, rust-color patterned dress with a slim waist. This dress accents your curves in all the right places without revealing too much flesh. Another flattering dress for your figure is the “Duo” strapless sailor dress by clothing designer Hype. This grey and magenta swirled sun dress, which features a front tie and side pockets, is perfectly filled out by your pretty figure. If you’re into A-line styles, add a belt to make a big splash and play up your intriguing lines. For example, the “Mod-est” dress by Jessie Williams is a short, flirty sheath-style dress with bell sleeves. You can wear this dress as beautifully as your boy-figured sisters if you cinch it with a wide belt at the waist. When buying this dress, opt for solid colors over patterns or stripes to flatter your curves. Formal wear is tailor made for hourglass figures. However, there are still certain dress styles that suit you better than others. One option we like this year is the “Cupra” white, strapless gown by Zeto. The black-colored tie-back evens out your figure, and the white, meshy tulle bust accents subtly play up your curves. Pair this long dress with the “Lovely Day” textured gold high heel shoes by Poetic License. Pants and JeansWhen selecting pants, opt for cuts that balance your figure and play up your assets. For example, the “Electric Blue” skinny jeans by Paper Denim feature a higher waist that accents the curve of your hips, and ankle zippers that showcase your bottom half. If zippers aren’t your style, try the “Rose” grey straight leg denim jeans by Union. The full-coverage, low-rise waist and minimal pocket detailing play your curves like a melody. Joan Jett-style punk-rock denim jeans scream for cute flats. We like the “Night Velvet” textured plastic flats by Melissa Plastic Dreams, or the “Sadie” navy blue ballet flats by Pink Studio. Flares are always hot, and the hourglass figure can wear many flared styles. The “Isabella” jeans by Paper Denim feature a mid-rise waist, and bell-bottom legs that create long, dreamy lines. If denim’s a bit too casual for you, slide into a pair of Union Jeans’ flared corduroy pants in navy blue or grey. The soft, stretchy fabric hugs your curves in all the right places. Pair your flares with intriguing shoes, like the”Marta” square-toe, wooden heel T-strap shoes by Frye, or the “Sorbet” black leather high heel boots by Chie Mihara. Tops and tee shirtsScoop neck tops are beautiful on ample busts. This spring, try the “Alice” organic cotton racer-back tank top by Velvet Leaf. The modest scoop neck and sailor tie gracefully accent your chest and shoulders. If you prefer fewer details, the “Oyashio” vest-style, scoop neck tank top by Dagg and Stacey offers a peep of cleavage and creates graceful lines. Flowing fabrics done right also accent hourglass figures ? providing your shirt choices aren’t too baggy. The “Marcie” owl-print swing top by Corey Lynn Calter balances your curves, while the “Joni” ruffle-neck blouse by Dear Creatures is gently loose throughout, but slim right at the waist to play up your assets. When in doubt, classic tee shirts are never a bad idea. The young designers at Blood is the New Black have a few things in store for the curvy girl ? check out their “Offering” and “Fists of Fury” tee shirts that feature sleek cuts, sweet cap sleeves, and big, bold printed graphics. If basics are what you need, try the women’s ribbed “Beater” tank top by Alternative Apparel. The cut draws attention to your neck and arms while hugging your body just right. Grab a few in black, rose, and green so you can mix-and-match your wardrobe. Happy shopping, girls!Edge of Urge is a mod, retro, hipster, and boho fashion boutique in Wilmington, NC. Choosing the Right Color Schemes to Sell

Posted by Earlan on December 10th, 2010  •  No Comments »

If you are painting your home with an eye to selling it, you will want to keep to simple themes that you can use to show your rooms to advantage. Color has a powerful effect on our consciousness. The right colors can make a room seem restful and soothing or warm and vibrant. Here are some good tips for color in rooms:Shades of White, Grey and Black: These can be dramatic in the right setting, since they amplify other hues and provide the eye with some rest from the emotional demands of color. White imparts a feeling of cleanliness and purity – great for bathrooms and kitchens. Grey is a more restful color, which can set off other tones without demanding too much of the viewer’s attention – good for bedrooms when paired with warm colors or bathrooms when paired with cool. Black is always a show-stopper in the right place, but if you want to appeal to the broadest demographic, save black for accents rather than walls. Shades of Brown: Brown is a great neutral color with a hint of warmth that grey lacks. The lighter browns make for good backdrops for just about any room, but work really well for larger bedrooms and living rooms, making them seem a little cozier without darkening the room overall. Brown is also a great color to set off various shades of white. The darker browns can work for larger rooms as well, but care must be taken that they do not make the potential buyer think that they have just stepped into a chocolate eclair. Shades of Yellow: Yellow is a bright, vibrant color that can make a room brighter without the sterile purity of white. It is a terrific choice for kitchens and bedrooms. Smaller living rooms, especially those that don’t get a lot of natural light, may benefit from the sunniness of a yellow-tinted paint. Shades of Orange: Orange is an energetic color, suitable for children’s rooms, recreational spaces and kitchens. However, many shades of orange may be too intense to impart a muted sense of liveliness, so stick to the more conservative shades of the spectrum. Shades of Red: Red is one of those colors where a little goes a long, long way. Most shades are too intense for true neutrality, so this color is best used as an accent. The lighter end of red – rose and pink, is less show-stopping and can be used in bedrooms and kitchens, but at the risk of typecasting the room as “girly” if care is not taken to choose neutral accessories and accents. Shades of Purple: Purple is another dramatic color which can be overwhelming at its full glory. It is a color that straddles the warm and cool sides of the color spectrum. The lighter shades of lilac can be used to good effect in bathrooms, bedrooms and living rooms. As with the pink and rose, the seller should insure that neutral decoration should fill the space. Shades of Blue: Blue is a delightfully cool color that imparts a feeling of relaxation and refreshment in its lighter tones. Perfect for bathrooms and bedrooms, a pale blue can add color without making the room seem cramped. Alternating dark and light shades of this color with white can round out a room to advantage. Shades of Green: Green evokes the image of nature and is great for entryways into the home. Lighter greens do very well for bathrooms. Darker, mossy greens can be excellent bedroom shades that can bring a larger room together without making it appear too dark. Green works well with white and brown, making it a good choice for contrasting against wood flooring or paneling.

Cultural And Emotional Debates About The Value of Private Property And The Right

Posted by Earlan on December 9th, 2010  •  No Comments »

Gaylin and Rose, in particular, offer carefully nuanced and rather inventive readings of their chosen texts (for Gaylin, the multivalent motif of possession in gothic fiction, and for Rose the accretion of meanings which cluster around the term inheritance in Daniel Deronda ‘memory, nation, race, culture, commitment, community’. Subsequent essays address class competition figured as the battle between legitimate and illegitimate heirs (Carol Margaret Davison on Jekyll and Hyde), bereavement as a means of assessing self-reflexively an author’s own Links Of London Bracelets novelistic inheritances (Jay Dickson on E. M Forster), disinheritance as an active choice rather than a passive process and the impact of gender and sexuality on modernist plots of inheritance.

On the whole, the essays are fresh and vigorously expressed: knowledgeable readers familiar with complex Victorian plots of entailment and transmission, like Middlemarch and Felix Holt, or even simply suggestive and intriguing stories about wills, like Oliver Twist and Bleak House, will find much here to enhance their understanding of the ways in which inheritance functions in a metaphorical as well as a legal sense. But this attention to metaphorical rich nesses to the many ways in which the language of legal entitlement serves to describe our cultural and emotional inheritances is also the weakness of the volume. A number of the essays, whilst persuasive in themselves, stray too far from the primary sense of inheritance as a legal form: Maurer’s informative piece on the vicarious enjoyment of property in Trollope’s fiction, for example, makes a number of valuable points about the ways in which a wife’s relationship to her husband’s property serves as an insightful illustration of ‘the readers’ assumed desire for a vicarious experience of Parliament’, yet it seems to illuminate for us broader ideas of property and public identity, rather than the particulars of private transmission and inheritance. Despite the claims of the introductory essay, legal inheritance is not fore grounded as the primary focus of the volume: instead, metaphorical applications of the term seem to multiply as one proceeds through the essays, and thus the material treated in the collection can at times seem rather diffuse and the essayists’ interests almost too wide-ranging.

Consequently, it becomes easier to note omissions: given the disruptive (and fruitful) impact of Darwinian evolutionary thought on Victorian and modernist fiction, for example, heredity and biological inheritance (and its role in the formation of personal identity) is treated less Links Of London Charms comprehensively in the volume than might be expected: Clissold and Rose deal with this material explicitly, but others mention it only in passing. Yet this is not to undermine the value of the collection as a whole: it does not necessarily deliver on its promise to uncover and articulate the entanglement of narrative and law, but it offers a rich and imaginative assessment of the ways in which legal form and narrative fiction are themselves embedded in broader cultural and emotional debates about the value of private property and the right to transmit it to one’s chosen heirs.

Practicing The Right Of Sober Living For Every Individual!

Posted by Earlan on October 14th, 2010  •  No Comments »

Every living being on the face of the earth has a fundamental right to live a healthy and happy life. It could be a human being, animal or even trees. Everyone entitled for this privilege. Human mind works very fast and is very much innovative. It has created marvels which are parallel to natural. In this way it tries to take over the natural superpower, which itself is a creator of human being. As they say, a child can never take over the parents! Similar principle is applicable here. It is highly impossible to overtake the source of creation for the human mind. Hence it tried doing so, it has received many troubles in return like stress, painful life etc. These adverse things lead humans to seek solace by immersing himself into any kind of hobby , it could be creative or destructive. It is not always the pressure of demanding life that leads to addictions or over-habituated habits, but also peer pressure, excessive risk taking attitude which calls in for trying out adventurous stuff.

But this fun can turn into a very fatal and dangerous discomfort in life. It may affect personal, professional life at every level. It may ruin relations with family members and friends. Men and women suffer a lot due to this habit. But it is never too late to realize this addiction and seek help. Many addicts do not do it themselves, but their family members do so for them. They approach rehabs and seek support and guidance. There are rehabs separately for men and women. Rose rehab is one such state-of-art facility for women. Which Rose Is Right For Me?

Posted by Earlan on October 27th, 2009  •  1 Comment »

It’s easy to get swept away by the allure of roses, especially if you’re a new gardener. After all, they’re beautiful and fragrant nothing beats a row of perfectly groomed rose bushes. But if you’re just starting out with roses, there are a few things you need to know to choose the best rose for your needs. Read on to find out more about picking the perfect rose:
Location, Location, Location
The first thing you need to decide is where you’ll be planting your new rose bush. Maybe you just want a rose to fill in the shady area near your front door, or perhaps you’re ready to dedicate a 40″ x 40″ full sun garden plot to your hobby. Different roses need different amounts of sunlight, and you’ll only set yourself up for failure if you plant a rose that needs full sunlight in the shade or vice versa.
The next thing to look at is your climate. The best roses for tropical Florida are different from those that will grow best in chilly Michigan. Depending on where you live, your roses might also be exposed to specific elements like salty winds off the ocean or areas with minimal topsoil. To make identifying the best roses for your location easier, the USDA has set up a plant hardiness map that indicates which plants work best in each region and when they should be planted for best results. When you’re choosing which roses to grow, check this chart to make sure your roses will survive in your climate.
Also, did you know that different types of roses have different growing patterns? If you’re used to seeing cut roses, you might not know that roses also come in climbing, miniature and bush varieties. Just like the sunlight issue, you also need to decide which rose variety suits your specific place. If you plant a climbing rose near any kind of trellis or vertical structure (including your home, a fence and even taller plants), be prepared for it to take over!
How Much Time Can You Commit?
Some roses are like some women and can be high maintenance. Certain varieties will require frequent pruning, specific soil nutrients and frequent fertilizations. If you’re more of a “hands-off” gardener, look for a rose variety that specifically claims to be low maintenance. Be realistic with yourself. Any hobby is fun at first, but roses require ongoing commitment in order to thrive. Make sure the rose you pick matches a realistic level of commitment for you.
Spend Time on Your Soil
Soil contains many of the nutrients your rose needs to survive — so think about it like you would the food you put in your own body. If you eat a diet low in vitamins and minerals, you won’t be very healthy and you’ll probably feel pretty cruddy. Similarly, if you give your rose poor soil to grow in, it may develop diseases or be more prone to insect infestation. Have your soil tested by your local extension agency or at any farm supply or feed store and find out what nutrients — if any — your soil is deficient in. The person who tests your soil should be able to give you a recommendation for additives that will remedy your problems.
It might also be worth it to invest in a rose fertilizer. You can find these at any garden store and they contain specific formulations of the vitamins and minerals your roses need to thrive. Speak with an employee at the store to learn how often the fertilizer should be applied — too much and you could burn the roots of your new plants.
Growing roses can be an extremely rewarding hobby, but don’t rush into it until you’re sure you know what’s involved. Don’t purchase rose plants on a whim — plan thoroughly before you include them as part of your garden, making sure you touch on each of the issues we’ve already discussed. You’ll soon be on your way to planting — and enjoying — the rose garden of your dreams.
